Since the man is "Erectus", stone played a leading role in his evolution.
Behind the fact that it is an ominipresent constituent of our planet, it became quickly:
- tool
- weapon
- stele
- shelter (rock shelter)
- oratory
- sculpture
- material for jewellery.
Our ancestors quickly discovered each and different intrinsic qualities of stones according to his composition, its beauty and its curiosity.
Stone can be an energetic regulator or activator, broadcasting radiances it acts on the human metabolism and can be as well beneficial like harmful.
The Celtic, Polynesian, Egyptians, Roman peoples… used the radiances characteristics of stones for care, magic, request...
The most "poetic" use of stones is probably the one done by "Griot" (oldest wise man of african tribe holding the all memory of his tribe) :
When the Griot feels he is gonna dye, and if he hasn't son, he frees all his memory in a granitic stone which will hold all his knowledges since somebody able to receive it "read" these knowledges, becoming the new Griot. (cf King Arthur's Legend where only one human being is worthy of sword excalibur).

Stones are perhaps the most intriguing of the principles of life on earth.
Participating in everything, becoming eroded, renewing it-self, having a cycle of life broadly superior to other enlivened beings, it follows quietly but surely its history made by thousand generations…
