THE TURQUOISE:
BLUE STONE veined
According
to its origins (Middle East, Africa, South America, India ...) This
stone is more or less "hydrated" (inset) of copper or aluminum which
determines its color.
It takes more or less
green tones (mainly due to oxidation of copper).
It is only blue in the presence of aluminum.
Turquoise
may sometimes be associated or confused with the lazulite sometimes
used to make counterfeits.
Family
phosphates and similar compounds, hydrated aluminum and copper often
found in cracks of igneous rock body.
History
The turquoise comes from its use in Turkey (as its
name suggests) it protects the sovereignty of evil influences.
In Mexico only stone Jade surpasses that of the
Turquoise as it is appreciated for its great virtues, it is particularly
Xiuhtecutli the God of Fire, also called the Master of the Turquoise.
It symbolizes the
unity of heavenly light blue color with the earthly fire, it is used to
decorate the shields of ritual (protection of the invisible).
Turquoise is the fourth of 12 stones of the Heavenly
Jerusalem in its symbolism, it is then engraved with the name of the
tribe of Israel correspondent.
It appears
this particular title on the breastplate of the Jewish priests.
Sometimes given for the stone of Venus (when it is
sky blue), sometimes to that of Jupiter we can see here the ambivalence,
rock of love or protection.
In the
tradition of astrology is the stone of the sign of SAGITTARIUS.
The remains of turquoise
are often reused for making artificial stone which looks more regular
than the original turquoise (fade with time).
Turquoise
is used in virtually all ethnic jewelry by his virtues described as
attracting love.
In Kabylia turquoise
can be used for men (the stone will be engraved on it) while in India it
is used solely to women who want to attract attention (and love).
The
blue of this stone seems almost artificial and symbolizes love when
color goes from blue (the color of Venus, goddess of love) to what he
has celestial, unlike (or additionally) quartz pink attracts and arouses
sensuality.
Stone of loyalty, which breaks a turquoise
sacrifices himself to resist the temptation of men or women married.
